"This vintage Gibson SG is in Very Good Condition. There are some scattered signs of wear - dings, dents, scratches, some small gashes, which is typical for an instrument of this age. The neck at the headstock was broken at some point during this instrument's life, but was repaired to the owner's best ability. There are signs of the repair, as he didn't do it as cleanly as a professional would or could have, but a skilled luthier could undo the work he did, and reinforce and hide the damage pretty well. In fact, our luthier could do that, as well, but he opted to let the instrument's new potential owner make that call. The truss rod cover has been replaced. Everything else seems to be all original. This instrument was setup by our shop's master luthier with a nice, low action. The neck is straight and true, with just the right amount of relief and plays fantastically. This guitar has a really awesome vintage tone that you just can't get nowadays!"

"The Gibson SG went through a rather major redesign in 1972, moving away from the vibrola tailpiece that had been with the model since the beginning and replacing it with a new 'wide-travel' version of the Tune-O-Matic bridge (Bigsby vibratos were a factory option)."
