"We are pretty sure this bass is a 1968 Gibson EB-0 based off some pretty extensive research. However, we're not entirely sure. Unlike its contemporaries, this bass has 4 control knobs that were, at some point, switched from the witch hat knobs typically used in this era to speed knobs. We think this bass was intended to be an EB-3 during production but a mix up occurred. Everything, the parts, the pickups, is all original. This bass is in Excellent condition, considering its age. This vintage beauty shows signs of wear typical for an instrument of such a fine vintage. To elaborate: there are some minor aesthetic issues: dings, dents, and scratches. However, there isn't anything major. Pictures attached. Master-crafted right here in the US, this bass has been expertly setup by our shop's first-class luthier, with a nice, low action, and plays beautifully. Additionally, this instrument's neck is straight and true with just the right amount of relief."
If you have any information regarding this bass, please send us a message and let us know! We've tried our best, I promise, to make sure everything we've put in this listing is true and honest! Having said that, this particular bass, from this particular year, with these particular features, was incredibly difficult instrument to research, despite the plethora of information regarding Gibson. In summary: mistakes may have been made with this listing; and, please, if you know anything more, let us know.
Additionally, an insanely cool thing about this bass is that the pots are there to add another pickup or you could separate the coils on the humbucker and operate them separately. Our luthier thought this would be a really sweet modification for anyone who is adventurous and wants to try something different and expand the tonal range of the bass's single pickup. Or you could turn this into an EB-3 and add another pickup pretty easily.
Thank you so much for reading this extensive diatribe and for checking out our listing! Hope you have a wonderful day!
